KC and KB seals: grease seals with a dust lip
A KC seal holds grease in where there is dust on the other side, with a springless lip and a dust lip; the KB is the same with a metal outside diameter. Conquest Seal supplies radial shaft seals, also sold as rotary shaft seals, rotary lip seals and oil seals, in inch and metric sizes. Send the part number or drawing and we quote it.

When to use it
Holding grease in where there is some dust on the other side. The grease duty of a V type with dirt on the outboard side.
When another type fits better
- VC: Grease and dust seal, rubber outside diameter, no spring, when the outboard side is clean.

- KB: Grease seal with dust lip, metal outside diameter. As KC, with a metal outside diameter. The bore needs the precise seat a metal outside diameter gives.
A designation match is not a fit, form and function match. These schemes measure different things, and the same letter means different things in different catalogs. Confirm the three dimensions, the lip material and the duty against the drawing before substituting any seal.
