Rotary shaft seal types

Cassette seals

A cassette seal is a two-part seal that carries its own counterface, so the lip never runs on the shaft and shaft finish, hardness and wear stop mattering to it. Send the part number or drawing and we quote it.

When to use it

Dirty, wet, heavy duty where the shaft cannot be relied on as a counterface. The seal brings its own counterface, so shaft finish, shaft hardness and shaft wear stop being the seal's problem. That is the whole point of it, and it is why it suits off-highway and agricultural machines.
