Seals and gaskets for industrial equipment
Pumps, compressors, valves, cylinders and gearboxes use the same handful of seal types in standard sizes, and most orders come down to a size and a compound. Conquest Seal stocks every AS568 size, supplies the hydraulic, shaft and mechanical seals alongside them, and cuts sheet gaskets on our own waterjet. Most industrial sealing is a catalog exercise. The part is a standard size, the compound is decided by what it touches, and the only real question is whether it is on a shelf.
Choosing the compound
Nitrile for mineral oils and hydraulic fluid, EPDM for water, steam and glycol, fluorocarbon for fuels and heat, silicone for dry heat and cold. A drawing that carries an ASTM D2000 line callout has already specified it, and the sheet or compound is matched to that callout. The temperature guide and the compatibility guide carry the detail.
Beyond the O-ring
Hydraulic seals are sized to the bore, rod and groove; shaft seals to the shaft, bore and width; mechanical seals to the pump model. Flat gaskets in EPDM, nitrile, neoprene, silicone, FKM or PTFE sheet are cut to your drawing on our own waterjet, from prototypes to production runs.
If the part has no number
Measure an unused ring, not the one that came out: a used seal has usually swollen or taken a set. The measuring guide covers it.

O-rings
The part most people mean by a seal. We stock every AS568 size.
Gaskets
Seals the joint between two flat faces, cut to your drawing on our own waterjet in Orange, California, with no tooling.
Hydraulic seals
Rod seals, piston seals, wipers and wear rings that keep a cylinder tight. Inch and metric profiles, quoted to your size.
Radial shaft seals
Keeps lubricant in and dirt out of rotating equipment. Single lip, double lip and unitized, sized to the shaft, bore and width.
Mechanical seals
Keeps fluid inside a pump where the shaft passes through. Cartridge and component styles, matched to your equipment rather than a catalog number.
Rubber compounds
For prints that name a compound rather than a part. Standard grades and the AMS and MIL specification grades a drawing can call out.
Materials
What comes up on general industrial prints
- Buna-N O-Rings
- Mineral oil and hydraulic fluid. The usual default.
- Viton® (FKM) O-Rings
- Fuels, oils and heat, where nitrile gives up.
- EPDM O-Rings
- Water, steam and glycol. Never petroleum oil.
- Silicone O-Rings
- Dry heat and cold, in static joints rather than moving ones.
The compound named on your print governs. Send it with the part number and we quote that compound.
